BEST BITES: Lo Spaghetto

Although the exterior and location of this restaurant don't give off the greatest impression, Lo Spaghetto is in-fact an"uptown" restaurant with a surprisingly wide variety of delicious Italian cuisine.

I visited the restaurant over the weekend with some family friends, and each of us thoroughly enjoyed devouring our plates of creamy pasta or crispy pizza. The restaurant is owned and run by an Italian chef. He has surely managed to bring in a taste of Italy to the heart Doha. <3

The chef has created an "identity" with his restaurant by not making it too lavish. The simple cozy seating arrangements ensures there are no distractions and that customers are solely focused on their dish of choice. The simplicity of the restaurant also reminds me of the cafes in Europe, which is very unique!

As always I ordered by Spinach Ravioli! The flavor of the spinach, combined with the thick and creamy sauce and walnuts really give the dish a special touch. I must add that Italian cuisine is pretty fattening and full of carbs so be careful to not get carried away.

I hope you enjoy the pictures and let me know about your experience there!

CREATIVITY: Sketch, London

If you're in London, then you NEED to check out Sketch!

Sketch is a very unique restaurant, located in Mayfair. It has attracted media coverage and celebrities from all around the world due to its myriad food, drink and entertainment styles. Not only is the restaurant artistic and thematic, but the food itself is very creative, bold and ground-breaking.

For example, this butter-nut squash soup I had came in three stages:
1) There was a delicious paste in the bottom of the bowl
2) The waiter poured the hot soup into the bowl infront of me
3) He then used popcorn as garnish

This was: a) delicious b) marvelous c) I had to take a picture.

BEST BITES: Midori Sushi

The Pearl, in Qatar, is now home to yet another spectacular Japanese restaurant! In Midori Sushi, it's all about hitting the right flavorful notes. Although they do not have a very large variety of sushi, they have perfected those available. I also tried their noodles, and they were, by far, the best I ever had.

The feel of the restaurant is very modern/casual-chic. The staff are friendly, and the pricing is moderate.

The restaurant doesn't have very high rating on diningindoha.com, but I think they should be ranked 5 stars for food!

Let me know if you try out Midori, and be sure to order the Shrimp Tempura!
